New Law College, Moot Court Society
(MCS) is a body formulated with a vision of “REFINING MOOTERS, REDEDEFINING
MOOTING”. The Moot Court Society (MCS) is a student run body under the
guidance and innumerable support of our Dean & Principal I/C Dr. Ujwala Bendale and Faculty Coordinator Ms. Priyanka Unde. MCS seeks to guide the students on
the mooting path and embodies the indefeasible passion for mooting within them.
The main purpose of the MCS is to
put forth a proper framework with respect to selecting and training the budding
mooters and providing them with opportunity to represent the New Law College in
various National and International Moot Court Competitions. MCS aims in
exchange of ideas and discussions on various judgments in order to bring forth
complete development of law students. Connectivity through law can surely bring
about prosperity and lead to the overall development of the individuals. . The
MCS works with an aim to conduct all its affairs in a completely transparent
and unbiased manner and travails to bring more laurels to the New Law College.
The MCS organized various intra college events
namely, Novice’s Intra Moot Court Competition , Novice’s Intra Trial
Advocacy Competition , Folio: An Inaugural Moot and plans on organizing many more of these events. The
Moot Court Society doesn’t just limit itself to Intra-College activities it
also indulges itself in various Inter-College competitions. Students of New Law
College have taken part in many various Moot Court Competitions hosted by many
law colleges. Teams of NLC have a long tradition of excellence in Trial
advocacy and their talent has succeeded in many Moot Court Competitions in
India.
The Moot Court Society proudly organizes its flagship event, the Justice P.N. Bhagwati International Moot Court Competition on Human Rights, annually. This prestigious competition attracts participation from leading national and international law schools. The 13th edition of PNBIMCC is scheduled to take place from 20th to 22nd March, 2025.
